Each venue uses one of three cancellation policies: Flexible, Standard or Strict. They differ in how long before the start you need to cancel to get a full or half refund.
The three policies
| Policy | Full refund | 50% refund | No refund |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flexible | 24 hours or more before the start | 6 to 24 hours before | Under 6 hours before |
| Standard | 48 hours or more before | 24 to 48 hours before | Under 24 hours before |
| Strict | 7 days or more before | 72 hours to 7 days before | Under 72 hours before |
Example
Your booking starts at 3pm on Saturday and the venue uses the Standard policy:
- Cancel by 3pm on Thursday: full refund.
- Cancel after 3pm on Thursday but before 3pm on Friday: 50% refund.
- Cancel after 3pm on Friday: no refund.
What applies under every policy
- Your security deposit is always returned in full when you cancel.
- If the host cancels, you are refunded in full.
- Severe weather has its own rules. See What happens in a typhoon or rainstorm?
Tip
If your date is not settled yet, a venue with the Flexible policy gives you the most room to change your mind.
