Booking a venue in Causeway Bay

Getting there

Causeway Bay station on the Island Line is the main stop. Its exits come up on several different streets, so picking the right one saves a lot of walking. For venues near Victoria Park, Tin Hau station is a good alternative.

Trams run along Hennessy Road and Yee Wo Street, an easy, unhurried way in from either end of the Island. Plenty of buses and minibuses serve the area, including many cross-harbour routes, so guests coming from Kowloon often do not need to change.

Driving is hard work. Traffic is slow most of the time and worse at weekends, and street parking is scarce. If you are bringing decorations or food, have one person drop them off by car and everyone else take the MTR.

What venues are like here

Most venues are on upper floors of commercial or mixed-use buildings, some of them older blocks. Spaces lean small to mid-sized, a good fit for a group of a dozen or so. Fit-outs tend to be recent, and many rooms are themed and photograph well.

Lifts in older buildings can be small and slow, and entrances are sometimes squeezed between shopfronts, so allow extra time on your first visit. Mixed-use buildings have residents, so keep the volume down late at night.

What it's good for

  • Birthdays and get-togethers: central for friends across the Island and Kowloon, and easy to go straight up after dinner or shopping. See Causeway Bay party rooms.
  • Bridal showers: smaller themed rooms suit a group of close friends who want to chat and take photos.
  • Casual shoots: decorated rooms work for lifestyle or social media photos.

Practical tips

  • Weekends and public holidays are very crowded, so give yourself extra time to walk from the station.
  • When ordering delivery, give the building, floor and unit, or arrange to meet the rider downstairs.
  • Commercial buildings may ask you to register at night or on holidays. Follow the host's entry instructions.
  • If you need more room, compare nearby Wan Chai and Tin Hau, or Chai Wan further east on the Island Line.
