Getting there

Tin Hau station on the Island Line is the main stop, one stop from Causeway Bay and close to Fortress Hill and North Point. Trams pass along King's Road, and there are plenty of buses and minibuses. From Kowloon, take the Tsuen Wan Line to Admiralty and change to the Island Line, or take a cross-harbour bus to Causeway Bay and walk.

Victoria Park lies on the western side, so walking through the park from Causeway Bay is another option. The Hong Kong Central Library is nearby.

Main roads are congested at peak times and street parking is limited, so public transport is usually easier.

What venues are like here

Venues are mostly upper-floor units in mixed-use and older buildings, small to mid-sized. Compared with Causeway Bay, there are fewer people around, building entrances and lifts are less crowded, and gatherings feel more relaxed.

As a residential area, most venues have neighbours, so keep the volume down at night. Lifts in older buildings can be small, so allow time if you are bringing a pram or lots of supplies.

What it's good for

  • Get-togethers and birthdays: close to Causeway Bay without the crowds, good for heading up after dinner.
  • Children's parties and family events: near the park, in a relaxed residential setting. See kids' party rooms.
  • Classes and workshops: the quieter setting suits hobby classes and small study groups.

Nearby, browse Causeway Bay and Fortress Hill as well.
