Getting there

Hung Hom station is an interchange between the East Rail and Tuen Ma lines, convenient from the eastern and western New Territories and Hong Kong Island, with footbridges towards the Polytechnic University and the waterfront. For venues on the eastern side near Whampoa, take the Kwun Tong line to Whampoa station.

Hung Hom sits by the Cross-Harbour Tunnel, so cross-harbour bus routes are plentiful, and minibuses run to other districts. Malls and some buildings have car parks, but roads nearby get congested on concert nights.

What venues are like here

Hung Hom has a varied mix. Near the station there are office buildings and hotels, suited to meeting rooms and small event spaces. The older streets have many mixed-use buildings, where venues are mostly studios, mahjong rooms and small party rooms. Around Hok Yuen Street, industrial buildings remain, with larger units used as party rooms and photo studios.

Office buildings may ask you to register at night; in industrial buildings, check gate hours and lifts; in older buildings, be considerate of residents.
