Getting there

San Po Kong has no station of its own, but three are within walking distance:

  • Kai Tak (Tuen Ma line): walk through the mall connected to the station and the footbridges to the southern side of San Po Kong, mostly under cover.
  • Diamond Hill (Kwun Tong and Tuen Ma lines): to the north, around a 15-minute walk.
  • Wong Tai Sin (Kwun Tong line): to the north-west, handy for venues on the western side.

Bus and minibus routes are plentiful along Prince Edward Road East and Choi Hung Road. Some industrial buildings have car parks, but spaces are limited.

What venues are like here

San Po Kong is a traditional industrial area, so nearly all venues are in industrial buildings with generous floor space: party rooms, photo studios, dance studios and workshops. Party rooms commonly offer karaoke, consoles and board games; some have BBQ or hot pot equipment, and some are designed for families with young children.

Older buildings have a limited number of lifts, sometimes split into goods and passenger lifts, and some close the gate or restrict access at night or on holidays. Ask the host from the venue page before you book.

What it's good for

  • Big birthdays and gatherings: room for groups of ten to twenty.
  • Kids' parties: some venues have children's facilities and space to run around.
  • Shoots and team events: open studios, and plenty of options for company groups.

Compare with nearby Diamond Hill, Wong Tai Sin and Kai Tak.

Practical tips

  • Allow time to walk: it is a fair walk from the MTR, especially with a cake or heavy bags.
  • Be patient with lifts: weekend afternoons are busy; allow an extra 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Give delivery riders full details: write the building, floor and unit, or meet them downstairs.
  • Stock up on the way: both Kai Tak and Diamond Hill stations connect to malls.

Frequently asked questions

San Po Kong has no MTR station. What is the easiest way there?

Take the Tuen Ma line to Kai Tak and walk through the mall and footbridges, or take the Kwun Tong line to Diamond Hill or Wong Tai Sin and walk down, roughly 10 to 15 minutes. Many bus and minibus routes pass through too.

Is San Po Kong good for children's parties?

Industrial units are spacious, and some venues have ball pools or children's facilities listed on the venue page. If you are bringing a pram, check the lift size and whether the entrance has steps.

Is the area quiet at night?

The industrial streets have fewer pedestrians at night, though the main roads still have traffic. Walk back to the station together or plan your bus route in advance.
