Getting there
Diamond Hill station is an interchange between the Kwun Tong and Tuen Ma lines, with the Plaza Hollywood mall and a bus terminus above it. It is easy to reach from across Kowloon and from both sides of the New Territories.
South across Lung Cheung Road is the San Po Kong industrial area, a 15-minute walk or so. The bus terminus has routes to all parts of Hong Kong.
What venues are like here
Diamond Hill itself is mainly public estates, private housing and a mall, with no industrial area, so there are few venues: mostly classrooms, studios and small activity spaces on commercial floors. Most party rooms, photo studios and larger venues are in the San Po Kong industrial area to the south, where there is more space and choice.
Diamond Hill works well as a meeting point: eat and shop at the station mall, then walk together to a venue in San Po Kong.
What it's good for
- Birthdays and gatherings with friends from different districts: meet at the interchange, then walk to San Po Kong.
- Family outings: parks and gardens nearby for a walk with children before or after.
- Workshops and classes: classrooms and studios close to the station.
For more venue choice, see San Po Kong, Wong Tai Sin and Kai Tak.
Practical tips
- Meet at the mall: the station mall has a supermarket and restaurants for stocking up first.
- Allow time to walk: San Po Kong venues are 15 minutes or so away; plan for it if you have a cake.
- Somewhere quiet: Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden are close by and very peaceful.
- Busy interchange: the station is crowded at rush hour, so agree on an exit.
- Severe weather: if Signal No. 8 or a Black Rainstorm Warning is in force from three hours before the start, you can cancel for a full refund or move within 30 days.
