Is there a booking fee?

No. Gatherland does not charge guests a booking fee. The total shown before you pay is what you pay.

How is the total worked out?

Venues price either per person per hour or per room per hour.
Friday to Sunday, public holidays and the day before a public holiday are charged at the weekend rate.
Venues may set minimum hours, a minimum headcount, a child rate, group discounts and add-ons, and these are reflected in the total.

Is the security deposit a fee?

No. Some venues take a refundable security deposit, shown before you pay. It is returned about 48 hours after the booking ends, and in full if you cancel. See How does the security deposit work?

So how does the platform earn money?

Listing a venue is free for hosts. The platform takes a commission from hosts on completed bookings only. The rate is on host pricing.
