Getting there
There is no MTR station in Aberdeen town centre. The nearest is Wong Chuk Hang on the South Island Line; allow time for the walk or change to a minibus or bus. Lei Tung station on Ap Lei Chau is also close, but across the Aberdeen Channel.
Buses are the most common way in. Some routes run through the Aberdeen Tunnel to and from Causeway Bay and Wan Chai, and others run along Pok Fu Lam Road towards Central and Kennedy Town. Minibus routes are plentiful too.
Driving through the Aberdeen Tunnel is direct, but town-centre streets are narrow and busy and street parking is limited.
What venues are like here
Aberdeen town centre is mostly residential and mixed-use. Venues are mainly upper-floor units, small to mid-sized, with a strong local feel. Towards Wong Chuk Hang there are industrial buildings with more space.
There are many residents nearby, so keep the volume down at night. Lifts in older buildings may be small, so allow time if you are carrying a lot. Markets and eateries are plentiful, which makes food easy.
