Booking a venue in Yuen Long

Updated 2026-10-04

Getting there

Yuen Long is served by the Tuen Ma line, with Yuen Long and Long Ping stations in town and Kam Sheung Road to the east near Kam Tin. There is no change needed from Nam Cheong or Mei Foo in west Kowloon or from Tsuen Wan West. The Light Rail links the town with Tin Shui Wai and Tuen Mun, with many stops and frequent trains, so most corners of town are easy to reach.

For Kam Tin, Pat Heung and other countryside areas, change to a bus or minibus at Kam Sheung Road station or in town. If you drive, some countryside venues have parking, but village roads are narrow, traffic is heavy at weekends and on holidays, and lighting is limited at night, so allow time and drive carefully.

What venues are like here

Yuen Long has a wide mix:

  • Town-centre mixed-use buildings: near Yuen Long, Long Ping and Light Rail stops, mid-sized, good for small gatherings and classes.
  • Industrial buildings: on the edge of the town centre, with more space for big parties.
  • Village houses, farm-style sites and outdoor spaces: Kam Tin and Pat Heung have many village houses and outdoor venues, some with lawns, gardens or BBQ areas, suited to a full day out.

Outdoor venues depend on the weather; bring sun and mosquito protection in summer. Village-house venues are quiet at night, so keep the volume down.

What it's good for

  • BBQ and outdoor gatherings: there is plenty of space in the north-west New Territories. See BBQ venues.
  • Large family gatherings: room for several generations, and space for the children to play.
  • Team building: outdoor venues suit games and a BBQ. See team-building venues.
  • Birthdays: industrial or commercial rooms in town, or a village house for something different.

Practical tips

  • For countryside venues, check the route on a map and the last bus before you leave. Larger groups can share cars.
  • If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or a Black Rainstorm Warning affects an outdoor booking, the platform's severe weather rule applies. See the cancellation policy.
  • In summer bring insect repellent, sunscreen and plenty of water.
  • If friends live in Tuen Mun or Tin Shui Wai, also look at Tuen Mun and Tin Shui Wai.
